How we handle your information on Yonsi.

Yonsi ("we", "us", "our") operates yonsi.in — a platform that helps workers find tasks and employers post jobs, show interest, and chat in real time across India. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using Yonsi, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated when you use Yonsi.

Account & identity

  • Phone number (used for OTP sign-in)
  • Name, email address, and profile details you enter
  • Information from third-party sign-in (Google or Facebook), such as name and email, when you choose those options
  • Device identifier used during authentication flows

Worker profile

  • Display name, bio, gender, date of birth (used to show age)
  • Job categories, service radius, profile photo, and resume (PDF or Word)
  • Home or work location coordinates when you save them

Employer profile

  • Company name, contact name, business address, and location coordinates

Locations

  • Saved places (address text and latitude/longitude) used to show remote, hybrid, and nearby on-site jobs and workers

Jobs & hiring activity

  • Job posts (title, description, category, pay, schedule, work mode, location)
  • Applications, interest signals, hire status, and related notifications

Messages

  • Chat content and metadata between users (text and, where supported, attachments), including timestamps and conversation participants

Technical & usage data

  • Authentication tokens stored in your browser (local storage and cookies) to keep you signed in
  • Language preference cookie
  • Server logs that may include IP address, browser type, and request timestamps
  • Information you send through our contact form (name, email, phone, message)

We do not process job payments through Yonsi. Payment arrangements between users happen outside the platform — see our payment disclaimer.

3. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • Create and secure your account (including OTP verification)
  • Show relevant jobs, workers, and listings near your saved locations
  • Enable interest, applications, hiring workflows, and in-app chat
  • Send in-app notifications about activity on your account
  • Display profiles, resumes, and job details to other users as part of the service
  • Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms
  • Respond to support requests and legal obligations
  • Remember your language preference

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing.

5. When we share information

We may share data with:

  • Other users — as part of normal platform use (e.g. employers see worker profiles when you apply; workers see job and employer details)
  • Service providers — hosting, infrastructure, and tools that help us run Yonsi, under confidentiality obligations
  • Authentication providers — Google and Facebook when you sign in with those services
  • Location services — OpenStreetMap / Nominatim for address search and map display
  • SMS / OTP providers — when phone verification is enabled, to deliver one-time codes (we will update this policy when that integration is live)
  • Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security

6. How long we keep data

We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law. When you delete your account or request erasure, we delete or anonymise data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records (for example fraud prevention or legal compliance).

Messages and job records may be retained for a limited period after deletion to handle abuse reports and legal requests.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong device lock and do not share your OTP or login tokens.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate profile information in your account settings
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in India

9. Children

Yonsi is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Cookies & local storage

We use:

  • Authentication cookies and local storage — to keep you signed in
  • Locale cookie — to remember your language choice
  • Local storage — for preferences such as saved locations and unread notification markers on your device

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings; doing so will sign you out and reset some preferences.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and we may notify you through the app or email for material changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
